Social Media Intern

INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Join our team and support our social media efforts to help us achieve our vision to become America’s leading literacy advocate by 2025. Our staff will enable you to apply your creativity and ideas to Coaching for Literacy’s work while teaching an approach focused on the structure and organization needed to accomplish big things!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Public Relations + Story Production 

  • Create Social Media Content -

    • Generic Posts - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn

      • Create and schedule standard monthly social posts

    • Insta / FB Story Updates 

      • Help to create + post stories promoting Coaching for Literacy initiatives

    • Human Interest Stories / Impact Stories 

      • Take the stories / blog posts and turn them into/schedule social posts

  • Coordinate Social Media Accounts

    • Utilize Agorapulse to develop and schedule copy for CFL’s social media accounts

    • Engage with the audience during Fight for Literacy Games

    • Collect, organize and share photographs of NCAA coaches wearing #Green4Literacy

  • Expand Audience  - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

    • Strategically follow, unfollow, and engage with other social media users to build CFL following + engagement 

      • Like + Reply to partner/follower posts

      • Retweet relevant partner/follower posts

      • Retweet posts related to education / literacy / reading

      • Follow users who are engaging with us via social media

    • Execute creative social campaigns to generate increased engagement for CFL channels

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing a degree or have a degree in a related field

  • Ability to work in a team environment (in-office or remotely) with strong written and verbal skills

  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram

  • Experience with social media management software  - we use Agorapulse

  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights

  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop

INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Duration: November - March (at minimum)

  • Required Weekly Hours: 3-5

  • Compensation: TBD
